The Remnant
Y'all know by now I love learning about the Prophet Elijah, so today's Daily Bread shouldn't come as a shock as I dive back into 1 Kings 18, specifically verse 22.
Here Elijah states that he is the ONLY one left (ever felt like that? I know I have!)
And the Lord let's Elijah whine, and then says to Him (my version) actually, you aren't. I have plenty more who haven't bowed a knee to Baal.
When I was sitting at the Monster Truck Show this past weekend with my Family I was looking around in the crowd only to see and feel much opposition in the spirit. Many parents seemed under a heavy weight and joy seemed to be few and far between. My heart was saddened. I continued to look at a family sitting next to us, and the tension was so thick in their marriage you could cut it with a knife, again, my heart was heavy.
As I took a deep sigh and tried to fix my gaze back to the Big wheeled Trucks in the center of the arena the Lord spoke to my heart
"Look again" he said.
I looked out over the crowd again and saw golden spotlights over families scattered throughout the arena.
"There is a Remnant" the Lord spoke to me as I took in the families who still loved the Lord.
My heavy heart turned to gladness as I realized, like Elijah, that I wasn't the only one left.
Though the entertainment industry likes to make us think we are alone, though media stations, social media, and ever friends and family may like to poke fun at your religious beliefs, call you a fanatic and tell you that you are too old fashioned, be encouraged - you are not alone.
Not only are you surrounded by more believers than you think, you are covered by a great cloud of witnesses, angels are on assignment to protect you and the Word of God himself is interceding for you in heaven.
We have won.
We are not alone.
Press on saints, there are more for you thank against you!
