Week 3

Last week we looked at "love". This week let's talk about "The Secret Place", and start in Psalms 91.

Before we get started let's pray-

Father I thank you for Your Word. I know it is true in a world full of counterfeit. as I read I ask the Holy Spirit to give me wisdom, knowledge and discernment. Make the words come alive and take root in my heart. Transform me in only the way that your word can. Speak to me, and mold me, shape me and form me for your glory. Show me what it means to hide in your shadow. I love you. -Amen

1- Read Psalms 91 in two translations so that you can grasp the meaning of the passage.

2- Pick one of the Bible Study Methods that we talked about in Week 1 (or another method you prefer) and use it to dive into this passage.

3- Pray, Journal and ask yourself these questions...

a- What does David mean here when he says that we can find rest in the shadow of the almighty?

b- When in your life have you found peace in the middle of a storm? Have you ever prolonged going to the Lord, and regretted it later?

c- Verse 4 says that His faithful promises are our armor and protection. Let that sink in.

d- Write 4 promises of God that you are standing on in this season

e- Verse 9 talks about God being our "refuge". What is the original word here? What does that word mean? Knowing this, rewrite verse 9 in your own words.

f- Recognize verse 12? Where else in the Bible is this verse mentioned? (think temptation...) How was this verse manipulated and how did Jesus fight back?
